My Asia: Does the world need another travel blog?
After you have looked at this travel blog, it will be up to you to decide. As for me, I can only explain the inspiration behind the articles and how they were produced:
- I made a point of only interacting with people who were born in the location being described, in order to have the most genuine experience possible. In fact, by connecting with these people, I was lucky enough to gain special insights and perspectives that I wouldn’t have gotten if I only hung out with other tourists or had superficial conversations. This is not very common in a travel blog.
- I don’t claim to present an absolute truth, but rather to share what I encountered during my weeks in a particular place: the good, the bad, and the ugly. While this may seem obvious, it’s important to clarify for those whose interactions with locals may have differed from my own. We must remember that our perspectives are subjective in many regards. That is why I encourage anyone who wishes to share their own experiences, even if they diverge from mine, to do so in the comments. This will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of a particular culture.
- Time can bring changes to places and situations. What was valid in Chengdu in 2015 may no longer hold true when you read my articles. As a result, I usually refrain from naming restaurants where I’ve eaten, even though I may include photos from these locations, since eateries tend to close down fairly quickly.
The only thing left for me to do is to wish you a pleasant reading experience with my articles covering Sichuan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, Seoul, Japan and South Korea. If you have any queries or require any clarifications, don’t hesitate to leave a comment in the section below each post of this travel blog.
I also suggest you to visit my YouTube channel, for traveling tips and videos of my adventures in Asia.
